Parent to Parent Coordinator Okanogan County

Coordinator Position Summary:

The Parent to Parent Coordinator of Chelan/Douglas and Okanogan Counties will deliver culturally appropriate support services to parents of children with developmental disabilities and/or special health care needs.  Additionally the coordinator will coordinate and support a volunteer Helping Parent network.

Supervisor – Chelan/Douglas/Okanogan Parent to Parent Advisory Committee

Conditions of Work: This is a part-time, flexible position, 10 hours per week Okanogan/ 20 hours per week Chelan Douglas, $18.50 per hour. No benefits.


RequiredMust be a parent or family member of a person with a disability or special health care needs, High School Diploma or equivalent, Valid Washington Driver’s License and reliable transportation required. Experience with using MS Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) as well as social media or the ability to learn required technology. 

Preferred – Bilingual and/or bicultural (Spanish) preferred.

Program Mission

Parent to Parent support programs offer emotional support and information about disabilities and community resources to parents and caregivers who are just learning about and/or seeking new information about their child’s disability or chronic health condition. 

Trained veteran parents called “Helping Parents” provide one-to-one emotional and informational support to new or referred parents who have a child with similar needs.   

Parent to Parent Support Programs of Washington State is a member of the Parent to Parent USA Alliance.
